George Rogers Biography

, , , George is a native Texan and grew up in the small town of Groves, Texas. At the early age of nine, George Rogers sat and watched as Neil Armstrong step onto the lunar soil of the moon. He was hooked on space. After that, all his extra credit projects in school, science or history had some tie to the space program. He built models and gave picture presentations of lunar expeditions and the Skylab module.
, , , After graduating high school in 1978, he moved to Houston to work in the engineering industry with the hopes of participating in the space program at some level. Knowing that the lack of formal education would prevent him from working for the big players in the space industry, his plan was to start a company working in the space industry. This has been his goal and dream since seeing Neil Armstrong take that first step on the moon.
, , , He is married to his wife Cheryl in October of 2004. Cheryl is a stay at home wife who supports George in his work activities. Both are active in church choir, food bank, and other church activities in the Conroe area.
, , , George has more than 40 years supporting engineering projects with management, design, and drafting responsibilities in the petrochemical, marine and food processing industries. During these years, he has held positions that have included Design CAD (Computer Aided Drafting), Drafting Manager, Engineering Manager, Lead Piping Designer, Senior Piping Designer, Senior CAD Specialists, and Senior Structural/Mechanical Designer.
, , , As a Manager, he has been responsible for supervision of designers and drafters which included CAD training, design, checking, estimating, scheduling, standards, budget, client contact and quality control of design/drafting projects.
, , , As a Designer, he has 30 years’ experience as a senior piping designer, eight years of structural design experience and doing 3D CAD for 26 years. Work has included developing complex plant layouts, generating design and construction drawings, field as-builts, creation of 3D design models, generation of CAD piping specifications, and project construction supervision.
, , , As a Web Site Developer, he has 25 years’ experience as a Web designer. Work has included developing online presentations, generating design and layouts, online forms, creation of Web specifications’, Web based training and phone support.
, , , In the 40 years that George has been doing engineering projects. He has for 25 years being self-employed his own company providing engineering & design services to the petrochemical, marine and food processing industries. He has been a user of various CAD software packages since 1982.
